1. Our parish missionWe, the people of the Parish of North Dundas, are opening ourselves to God to grow spiritually and to do his work in the community. 2. Our parish vision“Growing the church … to build a church” While our dream and vision for the future is a new church facility, what we really want to be is a growing parish family. Starting with individual lives touched by grace, we seek to sow seeds of God’s love in the fertile soil around us, growing a mature community of faith that feeds the wider community. Only then do we plan to build a physical church, a greenhouse for God’s living church. 3. Our core valuesWe strive to…
4. Anglican belief and practiceAs Anglicans, we are in relationship (we call it “full communion”) with the Church of England and other member churches of the Anglican Communion throughout the world. We believe the Old Testament (often referred to today as the Hebrew scriptures) and New Testament to be the word of God, and to contain all things necessary to salvation. The Nicene and Apostles’ Creeds are sufficient statements of Christian faith, defined in human language at a particular point in history, even as we seek through prayer and praise to bring the same faith to life today. We celebrate sacraments (Baptism, Eucharist, and others), gifts that God has given us so that we can touch, see and feel the movement of grace in our lives. Bishops, priests and deacons serve the church so that we can be a servant Church to the world, following the model of Christ who inspired the apostles and martyrs, men and women, of the earliest Christian communities. We believe their calling and ministry is our calling and ministry. In all this, we believe we are on a journey to faith in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit.
